Growing Eggs
Create and update incubation batches, keep hatch dates visible, and quickly see whether anything is currently incubating.
A family-friendly incubator and flock dashboard that follows each hatch from eggs to chicks, keeps tagged birds tied to their original batch, and turns the day-to-day numbers into a simple visual story.
The interface is intentionally visual and approachable: incubation status on the left, hatch history in the center, and permanent bird/tag records on the right.
Create a batch with egg count, species, start date and incubation milestones.
Review and update a batch’s dates, egg count and incubation settings.
Track hatched chicks, infertile eggs and losses, with hatch-rate and accounting feedback.
Assign or edit bird tags, save hatch notes and manage archived batches.
Screenshots show the supplied installation and sample hatch records. Select a workflow image to view it at full size.
The goal is not just to count eggs. It is to preserve the history of every hatch and make the information useful for the family long after incubation is finished.
Create and update incubation batches, keep hatch dates visible, and quickly see whether anything is currently incubating.
Archived batches remain useful after hatch day with age, hatch totals, infertility, losses, and hatch/fertility rates retained as a family record.
Each tagged bird can stay linked back to the hatch it came from, while the dashboard highlights active tags and chicks that still need tags.
The dashboard surfaces the information that matters day-to-day while keeping the deeper history available inside each hatch record.
The hatchery view lives alongside the rest of the home's dashboards and can grow into environmental sensing, incubator alerts, coop monitoring, and additional automation later.
Large cards and clear status blocks work well on tablets and wall displays.
Completed batches remain visible instead of disappearing after hatch day.
The same project can later include temperature, humidity, incubator health, and coop sensors.
A HACS custom integration bundle with the tracker, dashboard, reusable card, all 27 helpers, artwork, JSON storage, and configurable daily milestone alerts.
The installer prepares the files and starts new installations with an empty database. Existing batch records and edited files are preserved. Helpers live together in a Home Assistant YAML package; hatch results and bird tags stay in JSON.
Requires Pyscript, Mushroom, Auto Entities, Card Mod and Browser Mod. Enable the helper package, register the dashboard, and select your own phone notification action using the included guide.

The four-page guide walks through dependencies, setup, file paths, optional notifications, preserving existing data and handling updates.
Installation Guide · PDF · v0.1.0Public beta: package and simulated lifecycle tests pass; live Home Assistant/Pyscript/frontend validation is still pending. Available as a custom repository, with no claim of default HACS catalog inclusion.
